How do I create an account?

Accepted Answer

Select Start your registry — free at the top right (or in the menu on a phone), or Create one under the sign-in form. Enter your full name, email and a password, then select Create account. Your password needs at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter and one number.

You'll land on a Check your email page. Open the verification link in that email within one hour. It confirms your address and signs you in, and you can select Go to your dashboard.

On your dashboard, the Set up your registry card (Start setup) asks a few quick questions and suggests what to add. It takes about 2 minutes, or you can select Not now and come back to it later.

Don't see the email? Check your spam or junk folder, then select Resend email on the Check your email page. If you've already left that page, see "My verification email isn't arriving."

Question 2

What should I do in my first 5 minutes?

Accepted Answer

Start with these four things:

1. Start your registry. Select Start my registry on the Registry page (or Start setup on your dashboard) and add your due date in Registry Settings. It's the gear icon on your Registry page.
2. Add a few items. Use Add Item to browse the catalog or add your own, and file each one under a Phase such as 0–3 Months.
3. Add your shower details — date, time and venue — on the Shower page.
4. Invite your partner or a family member under Collaborators on the Shower page, so they can help plan.

That's it! Five minutes now, and you're officially underway.

Question 3

Is there a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. There isn't a downloadable in9months app today, but in9months works well in your phone's browser. You can add it to your home screen for easy access:

iPhone: Tap the Share icon → Add to Home Screen

Android: Tap the menu → Add to Home Screen

You'll get an in9months icon right on your home screen, just like an app.

Question 4

How do I add items to my registry?

Accepted Answer

There are four ways to fill your registry:

- Browse the catalog — on the Add Items page, search or pick a category (Sleep, Feeding, Diapering, Gear & Strollers, Nursery, Bath & Care, Clothing, Safety) and select Add to Registry.
- Add Custom Item — on the same page, add anything that isn't listed. Give it a name and, if you like, a description, price, retailer, link, quantity, priority and phase.
- Import from Another Registry — on your Registry page, paste the link to a public Amazon Baby Registry or Target registry and choose which items to import. Babylist registries can't be imported automatically, so add those items with Add Custom Item.
- The Stork — a separate page that checks your registry against the essentials for each category and suggests items for what's still missing.

Already added an item? Open it and use Auto-fill from URL: paste a product link, select Fetch, and we'll pull in the name, image and price.

Question 5

How do I mark items as "must have"?

Accepted Answer

Every registry item has a priority: Must Have, Nice to Have, or Low. You can set it when you add an item. To change it later, open the item and update the Priority field.

The registry's default sort is Must Have first, so your top picks show up at the top. Use the Sort menu on the All Items tab to change the order (Still needed, Newest, Oldest, A → Z, or Price).

Question 6

Can I add my own pictures to items?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open an item to edit it and look for the Image section. Select Click to upload a photo to choose a picture from your phone or computer, or paste a link to an image (it should start with https) into the Image URL box under it.

The Add Custom Item form doesn't have an image box, so add the item first and then open it to give it a picture. If you paste a product link under Auto-fill from URL and select Fetch, the product image is pulled in for you.

Question 7

How do I add a personal message for gift-givers?

Accepted Answer

On your Registry page, select "Add a welcome message for your gift-givers" to write a short note — anything from "thank you for celebrating with us" to your full story. You can also write it in Registry Settings, under Welcome message.

Your message appears at the top of your public registry, so guests see it the moment they land. You can edit or clear it anytime.

Question 8

How are registry items organized?

Accepted Answer

Registry items are organized by Phase, which is the age or stage you'll need them: 0–3 Months, 3–6 Months, 6–12 Months and 12–24 Months. Pick a Phase when you add or edit an item, then open the By Phase tab on your Registry page to see everything grouped that way.

The All Items tab shows everything in one list, and the Gift Log tab tracks what has been bought.

The catalog on the Add Items page has its own categories to browse (Sleep, Feeding, Diapering, Gear & Strollers, Nursery, Bath & Care, Clothing, Safety). They help you find products, and items you add are filed by Phase.

Question 9

How do I add guests?

Accepted Answer

Go to Guests and enter a name to get started. Type it in the Add a guest... row at the bottom of the list, add an email or phone number if you have one, and select Add (or press Enter). Guests are added one at a time.

To fill in more, select the pencil icon next to a guest to open Edit Guest. There you can add their email, phone number, address, dietary needs and plus-one. You can download the whole list with Export.

Or, let your guests do the work! Once your shower website is published, share the link and guests can enter their own name, email, address, dietary needs and plus-one when they RSVP. Their details are added to your guest list automatically.

Question 10

How do I manage guest addresses?

Accepted Answer

Click on any guest to add or update their mailing address. Addresses can be used for invitations and thank-you cards.

Want to skip entering them yourself? Share your shower website and guests can add their address when they RSVP. It will automatically be added to your guest list.

Question 11

How does the public RSVP link work?

Accepted Answer

Once your shower website is published, share the link with your guests. They can RSVP and browse your registry — no account or login required.

When guests RSVP, they can provide their email, mailing address, dietary needs, plus-one details and a personal message.

Everything is added to your guest list automatically, so all the information you need is in one place. You can copy the link or show a QR code from the Guests page.

How do I sort or search my guest list?

Accepted Answer

Click any column heading to sort your guest list by name, email, phone, address, RSVP status or plus-one. Click again to reverse the order.

Use the search box to find a guest by name, email or phone, and the RSVP filter to show only Attending, Pending, Maybe or Declined guests.

What's the Events feature for?

Accepted Answer

A baby shower day can include more than just the shower itself — setup, the main event, clean-up, and even smaller gatherings before or after. Events lets you plan every part of the celebration in one place.

Select Add Event and fill in the name, type (Pre-shower, Main, Post-shower, or Other), date, start and end time, venue and any important details. Events are listed By time by default. Switch to Custom order and use the up and down arrows on each event to put them in the order you want. You can also switch between List and Timeline views to see your day at a glance.

Question 14

How do I assign helpers to events?

Accepted Answer

On each event card, click "Add helpers" to choose people from your guest list who you'd like to help with that task. Once assigned, they'll receive an email letting them know you'd love their help — for example, "Sarah would love your help with Setup." Guests without an email address can't be emailed, so add theirs on the Guests page first.

Each helper's status shows as Asked, Accepted, or Declined. When a helper tells you their answer, select their status on the event card to change it.

Question 15

Where do I see the day-of schedule?

Accepted Answer

Your schedule is easy to find in two places. Head to Events to switch between List and Timeline views, or check the Day-of Schedule on your main shower page for a quick look at your next four events.

Timeline view gives you a visual look at how the day comes together, with each event displayed along the day's timeline and your helpers shown right alongside it. It's an easy way to see what's happening, when it's happening, and who's helping — all at a glance.

How does in9months help me create a seating chart?

Accepted Answer

Go to Seating to add your tables and the number of guests each can hold. Then choose Seat Guests to assign confirmed guests to each table.

Want some help? Use Auto-Balance to automatically distribute your unseated guests across available tables, including plus-ones.

When you're finished, select Print View for a clean, printable seating list organized by table.

Question 17

Can I arrange tables on a room layout?

Accepted Answer

Not today. Seating works with tables and lists rather than a drawn room layout: you can create tables, set the number of seats, assign guests, and use Auto-Balance to organize your seating plan.

Question 18

How do I add hotels for out-of-town guests?

Accepted Answer

On the Hotels page, click "Add Hotel" and fill in: name, address, price per night, distance from venue, booking URL, and any notes (like "wedding block — mention CODE for $20 off"). Add 2–4 hotels near your venue.

These appear in the Where to Stay section of your published shower website, along with an embedded Google Maps view centered on your venue.

Question 19

Do I need to set anything up for the hotel map?

Accepted Answer

No — there's nothing to set up. Once you've added your venue address on the Shower page, your shower website shows a map centered on your venue, along with a link for guests to search for more hotels nearby on Google Maps.

Question 20

Can I message my guests through in9months?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can send messages to all of your guests, groups based on RSVP status, or individual guests.

Choose from ready-made templates like RSVP Reminder, Day-Before Reminder, and Thank You, or create your own message.

Send it right away or schedule it for a future date and time. Once scheduled, in9months will automatically send it for you — even if you're offline.

Question 21

What are merge tags?

Accepted Answer

Merge tags let you personalize messages automatically. Add a merge tag when writing your message, and in9months fills in the correct information for each guest when it's sent.

You can personalize messages with the guest's name, shower name, shower date, venue, or RSVP link.

For example, "Hi {{guest_name}}!" automatically becomes "Hi Jessica!" when Jessica receives it.

Just click Insert Merge Tag while composing your message and choose what you'd like to add. Write it once, and in9months personalizes it for each guest.

Question 22

Can I send a text message (SMS) instead?

Accepted Answer

Not at the moment. Guest messages are sent by email, so make sure each guest has an email address in your guest list. If anyone is missing one, in9months will let you know before you send your message.

Question 23

How do cash funds work?

Accepted Answer

Select Add Fund on your Registry page (on the Cash Funds tab) to create a fund — for example, a Diaper Fund, College Fund (529), Childcare Fund, or anything custom. Set a goal amount.

Online contributions aren't open yet, so guests can't give to a fund by card for now. On your public registry, cash funds show as Opening soon. The one exception is a 529 fund set to Ugift only, which guests can give to through Ugift.

How do I receive the money from my cash funds?

Accepted Answer

Online contributions aren't open yet, so there is no money to collect and nothing for you to set up. Your cash funds show as Opening soon on your public registry.

When contributions open, we'll explain here how the money reaches you.

Question 25

I accidentally deleted a fund. Can I restore it?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Deleted funds appear in a "Recently deleted" section at the bottom of your Cash Funds tab for 30 days after deletion. Click the Restore button next to any deleted fund to bring it back with all its data intact.

After 30 days, deleted funds are permanently removed. You also can't delete a fund that has already received contributions — email support@in9months.com if you need to remove one that has money in it.

Question 26

Can I set up a 529 college fund?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Select Add Fund, choose the 529 fund type, and add your 529 plan name, state and Ugift code if you have one. Under Contribution Methods, pick Ugift only if you want guests to be able to give right now: they give through Ugift, not through in9months.

Online card contributions aren't open yet. A 529 fund that also allows cash by card shows as Opening soon to guests until they open.

Question 27

Who can see my registry?

Accepted Answer

You're in control of who can view your registry.

Choose from three privacy levels on your Registry Settings page, or under Privacy in your account Settings: Public (anyone with the link can view it, and search engines may index it), Link only (anyone with the link can view it, but it won't appear in search results), or Private (only you can see it — sharing requires switching back). There is no password option.

Your personal information is never sold, and we only share information when necessary to provide in9months services.

How do I share my registry?

Accepted Answer

There are a few easy ways to share your registry:

Share your registry link by copying it and adding it to texts, emails, or invitations.

Share your shower website to give guests one place to find your registry, RSVP, and see all the event details.

Use your QR code on printed invitations or at your shower so guests can simply scan it to visit your site.

Can I invite my partner or family to help plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Go to Collaborators on your Shower page, enter an email under Invite by email, and select Invite. They'll receive an email with an invitation link. Once they sign in or create an account and accept, they can help you plan.

A collaborator can add to the plan: new guests, events, seating tables, hotels and budget lines, tasks on the planning checklist (and tick them off), and registry items. They can also leave comments.

Only you can change registry settings and privacy, manage cash funds, edit or remove existing guests, events, seating tables, hotels and budget lines, seat guests at tables, change the shower details, theme, website or invitations, send messages, or delete the shower. If a button is missing or greyed out for a collaborator, it is one of these.

You're always in control and can remove a collaborator's access at any time.

Question 30

Can I give someone view-only access?

Accepted Answer

Not at the moment. Every collaborator has the same access: they can add to the plan, tick off checklist tasks and comment, but only you can change registry settings, cash funds, existing entries, the shower details, theme, website and invitations, or delete the shower.

If you'd like someone to simply view the registry without making changes, share your registry link or your public shower website link with them instead.

What is the Journey Hub?

The Journey Hub is your home base throughout the nine months, bringing your planning timeline and helpful resources together in one place.

Follow a 40-week timeline with milestones like sending save-the-dates, finalizing your registry, and planning your shower. Each milestone takes you directly to the tool you need to get it done.

You'll also find a library of helpful guides organized by topics like Planning Basics, Registry Strategy, and Pregnancy Prep. Browse by topic or search for exactly what you need, when you need it.

How does the Journey Hub timeline work?

Your Journey Hub timeline is personalized around your due date and shower date, guiding you through pregnancy and shower planning week by week.

Throughout the 40-week timeline, you'll see milestones for both pregnancy preparation and your shower — from building your registry and creating your guest list to sending invitations, finalizing your venue, tracking RSVPs, and getting ready for the big day.

A You Are Here marker shows what's coming up next, while completed milestones help you see how much you've already accomplished.

If your due date or shower date changes, simply update it and your Journey Hub will automatically adjust your timeline.

Question 33

How does the referral program work?

Accepted Answer

Invite a friend and you both come out ahead. On the Referrals page you'll find your own unique referral link and code — share it however you like.

When a friend signs up through your link and creates a registry, you get $10 in credit and they get $5. The reward is tied to them actually creating a registry, not just signing up.

Your Referrals page lists each credit and when it expires. There's nothing to spend credit on yet, so it is a record of what you've earned for now. We'll say here when that changes.

Question 34

Where do I find and share my referral link?

Accepted Answer

Everything lives on the Referrals page. You'll see a copyable referral link and a short referral code, plus one-tap sharing options: Email, Text, and your device's native share sheet.

Heads up — the Text option only appears on mobile devices, since it opens your phone's messaging app. On a desktop, use the copy button, Email, or native share instead.

Any of these carry your unique link, so no matter how your friend signs up, the referral gets credited to you.

What is Registry Share Rewards?

Accepted Answer

This is a second, separate rewards system on the same Referrals page — don't mix it up with the referral credit above it.

Registry Share Rewards is about sharing your actual registry link (not your referral link). Every time you share your registry, we track the shares, the clicks it gets, and the signups it drives, and those add up toward milestones.

Each milestone you reach appears as a badge under Unlocked Features, and the page shows your progress toward the next one. Right now these are badges only; they don't switch anything on.

What is the First Year section?

First Year keeps your in9months journey going after baby arrives. It's a place to plan ahead and celebrate what's next.

Create cash funds for things like diapers and wipes, childcare, education savings, or something completely your own. Online contributions aren't open yet, so funds show as Opening soon on your public registry until they are.

You'll also have a First Year timeline with helpful milestones from baby's first month through their first birthday. It offers a simple look ahead at what you may need at different stages — without turning it into another to-do list.

Because the journey doesn't end when baby arrives. It's just beginning.

How do I set up funds for after the baby arrives?

Accepted Answer

Go to First Year and choose from ready-made funds like Diapers & Wipes, Childcare, or a 529 Education Fund. Each one comes with a suggested goal to help you get started, or you can create a custom fund with your own name, description, and goal.

Looking for something else? Choose More Fund Types for options like Medical & Health, Baby's First Library, and Nursery & Home Safety.

For a 529 Education Fund, you can also add your plan name, state, and Ugift code, if you have one.

Online contributions aren't open yet, so your funds show as Opening soon to guests for now. You can set them up ahead of time and track each fund here once contributions open.

How does the planning checklist work?

The Planning Checklist keeps the whole shower on track. Tasks are grouped by timing — 8+ Weeks Before, 4–6 Weeks Before, 2–3 Weeks Before, Week Of, and After the Shower — so you always know what needs your attention and what can wait.

Check off tasks as you complete them and watch your progress bar and percentage update. You can filter by phase, add your own custom tasks, and assign each task to Me or Co-host to easily divide up the planning.

Prefer a more visual layout? Switch to Board View to see your tasks organized as cards across columns.

How do I make invitations?

Accepted Answer

Go to Invitations to browse designs in a variety of styles, including classic, modern, nature, whimsical, seasonal, and luxury. Use the search box or category filters to find the look you want.

Choose a template, customize the wording and shower details, and save it as a draft. Your saved invitations will appear under Your Drafts, so you can come back and keep editing anytime.

Already picked a shower theme? Themes can suggest coordinating invitation designs to help carry the same look from the invitation to the celebration.

How do I track my shower budget?

Accepted Answer

The Budget tool helps you plan your shower spending and keep track of costs along the way. Start by setting your overall budget, then add expenses with a category, estimated cost, and actual cost. Mark expenses as Paid as you go so you can easily see what's still outstanding.

At the top, you'll see your total budget, how much you've spent, and how much remains. The Spending Breakdown chart also shows where your money is going by category, giving you a quick snapshot of your shower budget.

What do shower themes do?

The Themes tool helps bring the whole look of your shower together. Browse the theme gallery and filter by category to find a style you love.

Choose a theme to see its color palette, coordinating invitation designs, and a Decor Shopping List you can check off as you gather everything you need.

Your chosen theme also carries over to your public shower website, helping create a coordinated look from the invitation to the celebration.

How do I pick shower games?

Accepted Answer

Go to Games to browse fun options for your shower. Most showers include about three games, and we'll help you build a mix that fits your celebration.

Choose a game to add it to Your Game Plan, where you can see all your selections and an estimate of how much time they'll take. Open any game for complete rules and instructions.

Your selected games can also appear on your public shower website, giving guests a peek at some of the fun you have planned.

How do I keep track of vendors?

Accepted Answer

The Vendors tool gives you one place to keep track of any professionals helping with your shower, such as caterers, photographers, florists, or rental companies. Using vendors is completely optional, so only add what makes sense for your celebration.

Add each vendor's category and contact information, then track their status, booking date, and other important details. You can even rate vendors afterward so you remember who you loved.

It's an easy way to keep vendor information organized and accessible to everyone helping with the planning.

What can I print for the shower?

Accepted Answer

The Printables tool gives you ready-to-print extras for your shower, including Baby Bingo cards, a Baby Name Scramble, menu cards, welcome signs, name tags, diaper raffle tickets, thank-you cards, and more.

Choose a template, customize it with your shower details, preview your design, and print right from your browser. For pieces you'd like to be a little sturdier, cardstock works great.

It's an easy way to add coordinated, personalized touches to your shower without having to design everything yourself.

I can't log in

Accepted Answer

If you're having trouble signing in, start by double-checking your email address for any typos.

If you've forgotten your password, select Forgot password? under the password box and we'll email you a link to reset it. If you don't see the email, check your spam or junk folder and add support@in9months.com to your contacts.

Still having trouble? Email us at support@in9months.com with the email address you're trying to use, and we'll help you get back in. We typically reply within 1 to 2 business days.

Question 46

My verification email isn't arriving

Accepted Answer

If your verification email hasn't arrived, check your spam or junk folder first. Gmail users should also check the Promotions tab, and Outlook users should check the Other inbox.

Emails can sometimes take a few minutes to arrive. If you still don't see it after about five minutes, select Resend email on the Check your email page. If you've already left that page, enter your email and password on the login page and select Sign in. The message about an unverified email has a Resend verification email button. The link in each email works for one hour.

Still nothing after 10 minutes? Email us at support@in9months.com with the email address you used to sign up, and we'll help you get verified. We typically reply within 1 to 2 business days.

Question 47

Registry images aren't loading

Accepted Answer

Sometimes a product image may disappear if the original retailer changes or removes it.

If it's an item you added yourself, open the item, add a new image, and save your changes. For items added from our catalog, image updates are handled automatically whenever possible.

If several images are missing or your registry doesn't look right, try refreshing the page. Still having trouble? Email us at support@in9months.com and we'll be happy to help. We typically reply within 1 to 2 business days.

Question 48

How do I delete my account and data?

Accepted Answer

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. We'll ask you to type your email and enter your current password to confirm. If your account has no password, we'll email you a confirmation link instead. We'll remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records for legal or tax reasons (e.g., transaction history for up to 7 years).
