For Guests & Gift-Givers
Open the invitation link or shower website you were sent, then go to the RSVP section (or select RSVP Now). You don't need an account.
Enter your name, and your email address if you'd like a confirmation. Then answer "Will You Be Attending?" with Yes, I'll be there, Maybe, or Can't make it.
If you're coming or might be, you can also add a mailing address, any dietary restrictions or allergies, and whether you're bringing a plus-one. You can leave a message for the hosts too. Everything except your name and your answer is optional. Select Send RSVP when you're done.
You'll see "You're all set!" and "RSVP confirmed". If the shower has a date, you can add it to Google Calendar, or download a calendar file for Apple Calendar or Outlook, from that screen.
Right after you send it, select Edit your RSVP under "Need to change something?" to update your answers and send them again.
If you come back later, open the personal link in your confirmation email ("update my RSVP") and change it there. Please don't forward that email, since the link is yours.
If you fill in the form again with an email address that's already on the guest list, we don't change anything. We email that address a personal link instead, so only the owner of the address can change the RSVP.
Can't find the email? Check your spam or junk folder, or ask the hosts to help.
If the hosts have added their registry to their shower website, you'll find the link there, and again after you RSVP. They may also have sent you the registry link directly. It opens without an account.
The registry has three parts: Shop the Registry (browse and pick a gift), Suggest an Item (recommend something they might love), and See Who's Helping (see which gifts are already taken, to avoid doubles).
If you see "This Registry is Private", the owner has kept it to themselves for now. Reach out to them directly; they can make it visible again any time.
On Shop the Registry, find a gift and select Give This Gift. You can sort by Recommended, Price, or Most Needed.
On the next page, select Buy this item. The store's page opens in a new tab and you pay the store, not in9months. If the family didn't add a direct link, the button says Search on Amazon and opens a search for the item instead.
When you've bought it, come back to the in9months tab and let the family know (see "How do I mark a gift as purchased?"). That's what keeps two guests from buying the same thing.
Some items say how many are still needed. That's how many more the family would like.
After you choose Buy this item, you'll come back to the Let the family know step. If you bought the gift earlier, or somewhere else, select I already bought this instead.
All the details are optional: your name, your email (so the family can send a thank-you note), and a personal message. If more than one is still needed, you can also say How many did you buy?
Select Send & confirm (the button reads Confirm gift if you ticked Keep my name private). You'll see "Thank you!" and the family is emailed that a gift was marked purchased. The gift then counts toward what they still need, so other guests can see it's covered.
You don't need an account to do any of this.
Yes. On the Let the family know step, tick Keep my name private until after the shower.
Until the shower date, your gift shows as Anonymous on the registry's See Who's Helping page, and the hosts don't see your name, email or message either. After the shower date, your name is revealed to the hosts so they can send a thank-you note.
If you leave this unticked and enter your name, it shows next to the gift.
Not yet. Online contributions aren't open yet, so cash funds show as Opening soon on the registry for now. You can still buy a gift from Shop the Registry and mark it purchased.
One exception: a 529 college fund set to Ugift only can still receive gifts, because you give through Ugift, not through in9months.
On the registry page, select Suggest an Item. Enter your name and the product, and add its link if you have one.
A switch lets you choose whether to Send this suggestion, so the family sees your idea and your name, or Send privately, so they see your idea marked as private. Select Submit Suggestion. You can also say why you think they'd love it. The family reviews your suggestion.
Suggesting an item isn't the same as buying one. To give a gift, use Shop the Registry.
Try these first:
- Open the link from the original message again, rather than retyping it, and check the whole link was copied.
- "This Registry is Private" means the owner has hidden it for now. Ask them to make it visible again.
- A page that can't be found usually means the link is incomplete or the shower website isn't published yet. Ask the hosts to check.
The hosts are the best people to fix a link, since only they can change what's shared. If you're still stuck, write to support@in9months.com. We typically reply within 1 to 2 business days.
